What is We Do Tennis?
We Do Tennis C.I.C. is a Community Interest Company that works with tennis clubs and venues throughout the UK to improve their coaching programmes and operations. We're one of only 12 companies endorsed by the LTA to support venue development and coaching provision. Our unique approach focuses on teaching players the game, not just the strokes, helping develop both tennis skills and life skills in a fun, engaging way.
Where do you operate?
We operate across multiple regions in the UK, including:

LTA Midlands region, LTA North region, Tennis Wales region, Lancashire, Durham & Cleveland, Northumberland, Cumbria and the Isle of Man We currently support coaching programmes at more than 30 venues and work on 10+ standalone projects at any given time.
What makes We Do Tennis different from other coaching providers?
Our philosophy is simple: we teach you to play the game, not just the strokes. This means we focus on:

We're constantly expanding our network, so even if there isn't a venue near you now, there might be one coming soon!
What should I wear for tennis lessons?
Comfortable sportswear is perfect for tennis. We recommend:

Comfortable athletic clothing that allows free movement
Tennis or court shoes with non-marking soles (essential for indoor courts)
A water bottle to stay hydrated
A towel for longer sessions
Sun cream and a cap for outdoor sessions
Many venues have specific dress codes, particularly for competitive play, which we'll advise you about.
Do you offer trial sessions?
Yes! We believe in letting you experience our coaching approach before committing to a full programme. Most venues offer:

Free or discounted first session
Taster sessions during school holidays
Open days where you can meet our coaches
Pay-as-you-go options so you can try before buying a block

Coaching FAQ's

Do you offer coaching qualifications?
Yes! We have exclusive rights to deliver LTA tennis coaching qualifications and core products in several regions including Lancashire, Durham & Cleveland, Northumberland, Cumbria, and the Isle of Man.

We offer the full range of LTA coaching qualifications from Level 1 through to Level 3, including the new 11-day LTA Tennis Coach Qualification.
What does the LTA Tennis Coach Qualification involve?
The LTA Tennis Coach Qualification is an 11-day programme comprising:

9 days of Core Training
2 Electives (from a choice of three)
You'll develop skills in observation and analysis, learn to use match charting and statistics, and discover how to create game-realistic drills that improve match play performance.
Can I become a tennis coach with no experience?
Absolutely! Many successful coaches start with little or no coaching experience. Our Level 1 qualification is designed for beginners and covers all the fundamentals you need.

We provide ongoing mentorship and support to help new coaches develop their skills and confidence. Many of our venues also offer opportunities for newly qualified coaches to gain practical experience.
